Connection Diagram

In the above diagram, PackTrak is controlled by a Siemens SIMOTION motion controller.  Each PackTrak mover becomes another servo-axis in the PROFINET network.

SIMOTION Controller- A multi-axis controller by Siemens, suitable for machines requiring a comprehensive range of motion control tasks.  SIMOTION is a system solution, with scalable functionality and SCOUT, an integrated easy-to-use engineering system.

PackTrak Gateway (PG)- The PG constitutes hardware and software protocols for motion control. It is used to connect distributed servo-drives located on a machine. PG manages PackTrak’s unique drive and servo-axis paradigm- drive and axis are no longer “paired”, but rather, they share an array of servo-axes. On a PackTrak system, one drive can control a number of servo-axes.
