04 May 2010: Jacobs Automation Secures Series A Financing, led by Blue Chip Venture Company.

    Jacobs Automation announced the closing today of a Series A financing led by Blue Chip Venture Company, joined by the Queen City Angels, the Kentucky Science and Technology Corporation, and the company’s founders.  Additionally, the company secured a loan from the Kentucky Department of Commercialization and Innovation.

    “This financing will fuel our rapid growth, allowing us to capitalize on the numerous opportunities available in the market” said Keith Jacobs, CEO of Jacobs Automation. 

    Jacobs further notes, “We saw great success in the past year and this financing round will help us continue to innovate and continue our aggressive growth”.

31 July 2009: Jacobs Automation wins Ky. High-Tech Funds.

    Jacobs Automation LLC will receive up to $150,000 from the Kentucky Cabinet for Economic Development Finance Authority’s High-Tech Investment Pool to develop a new technology for the packaging and material handling industry.

29 July 2009: Jacobs Brings Linear Servo Drive Technology to the Packaging Industry.

    “We integrate our technology into the machines of OEMs and work with the control platforms of major automation providers such as Siemens and Rockwell Automation,” explains Jacobs. “Applications such as pouching can benefit from both high speed and flexibility, whereas converting applications benefit from the high degree of speed that linear servo technology can deliver.”

    Machine downtime can cost consumer packaged goods (CPG) companies around $5,000/hour, says Mike Hyslop, senior vice president of sales and marketing at Jacobs. “In addition to routine maintenance, the average packaging machine experiences several product changeovers per week, with the average changeover taking four hours for hardware retooling,” he says. “Based on magnetic levitation (maglev)/servo technology, PackTrak provides independent software control of multiple movers on a track with minimal hardware components.

15 July  2009: Packtrak Presented at the Prestigious Fraunhofer AVV

    Jacobs Automation’s premier packaging technology, Packtrak, was recently presented at the prestigious Fraunhoffer AVV in Dresden, Germany by Dr. Holger Grzonka, Manager of Packaging Segments for Siemens A.G. 

    The Fraunhofer Applications Center for Processing Machinery and Packaging Technology (Fraunhofer AVV) is an inudstry group dedicated to industrial research and development of packaging technology.

    This year’s event was held this past March and was attended by packaging industry leaders with select presentations from Siemens A.G., SEW-Eurodrive, Bosch Rexroth, FESTO and KHS.

6 March 2009: Mike Hyslop to Join Jacobs Automation as SVP.

    Jacobs Automation is pleased to announce that Mike Hyslop has joined the company as the Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing.

    Mike brings a rare mix of talent and experience to Jacobs Automation, combining managerial skills in both large corporate (Schneider Electric and Siemens Energy & Automation) and Silicon Valley start-up environments with commercial skills and a strong technical background.
